Check out what people are saying about Ocean State Boat Club
“I grew up on Narragansett Bay and spent a great part of my life boating on it. Once I started my family and took on the responsibilities of mortgages, car loans, tuition, braces, team sports and so on it seemed like my days of enjoying boating were a thing of the past. Then I discovered Ocean State Boat Club! Ocean State Boat Club put boating back within easy reach for me.
The Club offers all the pleasures of owning a boat without any of the expense and work! It would have been impossible for me to afford a boat loan and the related expenses of insurance, docking and maintenance. The last time I owned my own boat was 20 years ago and I calculated that it cost me about $500 per outing that summer of 1994. At that rate, I would get my OSBC dues back in less than 5 trips…but as a member I must have gone out more than 10 times this past summer of 2013! I could easily have gone out many more times because the club’s owner, Ed Palumbo, runs the Club very efficiently and is very enthusiastic about making sure that every member gets as much time on the water as possible!
And the convenience and ease of simply parking the car and stepping into the excellently located slips in East Greenwich made getting out into the Bay a cinch.
Nearly every outing was capped by a nice dinner or drinks at one of the area’s many restaurants, all within walking distance of the docks. Ocean State Boat Club put the fun back into summer for my family and me!”

“I’m writing to let you know how pleased I am with Ocean State Boat Club. Joining on September 3rd was the best decision I could have ever made. Where else could I have gotten the one on one boating lessons and a familiarity of the bay? You took me out on several boats and gave me hands on training. We also toured the bay until I was familiar with all of the important landmarks and safety rules. You are one patient individual. It’s only been three weeks and I’ve already been on 4 of the boats several times with you and gone out on my own twice. As an inexperienced boater, one of the great things is having you there to help me dock and tie up when I return. It’s like a valet parking but with a boat.”

We support the Ronald McDonald House Providence
Thank you for partnering with the Ronald McDonald House of Providence for our 2nd Annual Grand Gala Celebration. We appreciate your support of hospitalized children and their families by donating an Ocean State Boat Club membership for the Live auction.
Because of your generous community of supporters, RMH Providence raised nearly $75,000 at the Gala. These funds help underwrite the cost of family stays so we can welcome all families with children facing medical treatment or lengthy hospitalizations. Thank you for believing in our mission and making a difference in easing a family’s financial burden, providing a sense of normalcy, and helping families remain together during their time of need.
By working together we keep the doors of RMH Providence open to families with critically ill children. Best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season!

We support the The Tomorrow Fund
The Tomorrow Fund is the only local non-profit organization that provides daily financial and emotional support to children with cancer and their families who are treated in The Tomorrow Fund Clinic located in the Edwin Forman Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Center at Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
More than 90% of the children in Rhode Island, and many from nearby Connecticut and southeastern Massachusetts who are diagnosed with cancer are treated at The Tomorrow Fund Clinic. In addition to support for this Clinic. The Tomorrow Fund is there providing daily monetary stipends for in-patient families; hospital parking passes for the duration of treatment; financial aid for home expenses such as heat, utilities, and rent; bone marrow transplant expenses, etc. In addition, we fund programs that help lift the burden of parenting a child with cancer including coping, teen and bereavement support groups, parent consultants, community education and medical research.
Each year, The Tomorrow Fund holds a Fantasy Ball with an auction that is critical to the success of this event. More than 700 guests attend the Ball annually and bid on these donated items.
